Charlotte Sohier MSc

Charlotte Sohier graduated in 2009 with a degree in Biology from Ghent University. In 2016, she initiated her Ph.D. studies at Sciensano and successfully completed her Ph.D. in 2021. Currently, she works as a scientist in the Unit of Exotic and Vector-Borne Diseases. Her primary research focuses on vector-borne diseases, including the Lumpy Skin Disease virus, and various flaviviruses such as West Nile virus, Usutu virus, and Japanese encephalitis virus. Her work places significant emphasis on understanding the vector competence of indigenous arthropod vectors and the intricate interactions between viruses, vectors, and hosts.
