Dr. Michael Peeters PhD

After a PhD in molecular virology at Université catholique de Louvain, Michael Peeters started his career at Sciensano in March 2018. He started as a scientific co-worker for the Belgian National Reference Center for Viral Hepatitis. Between January 2019 and March 2022, he worked for the Belgian National Reference Centrum and Laboratory for Rabies. From April 2022, he is the responsible for the Belgian National Reference Center for Viral Hepatitis. He also coordinates the Belgian National Reference Centrum for Human Papillomaviruses since September 2021. He leads several research projects and studies in link with emerging and re-emerging viral diseases.
