Sanne Terryn graduated in 2010 at the University of Brussels (VUB) as Bio-Engineer. In 2011 she has started a PhD at the Ghent University (UGent) in collaboration with the service of Viral diseases at the Institute of Public Health (WIV-ISP).
In 2016 she defended her PhD titeled “Development and evaluation of antiviral single domain antibodies for prophylaxis of rabies in mice”. Hereafter she worked as a scientist at the national reference centrum for rabies at the Institute of public health for which she is responsible since 2018.
