Ms Vanessa Suin PhD
In 2010, I defended my PhD in Biological Sciences at the University of Namur. Afterwards, I started working as scientist at the national reference centrum for rabies at the Institute of public health (WIV-ISP). From 2011-2015, I was responsible of the National Reference Centre for tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV). We performed human diagnosis and seroprevalence studies in sentinel animals.
Since 2015 until now, I am the head of the National Reference Centre for Viral Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E. We perform routinely viral hepatitis diagnosis (serological and molecular diagnosis) and we analyse epidemiological situations of viral hepatitis in Belgium. We also participates to seroprevalence studies in collaborations with belgian hospitals and universties.
