Subsequent mortality in survivors of Ebola [1]
Patients who recovered from the Ebola virus and who were discharged for the treatment units have a high mortality risk. Compared to the general population, survivors of Ebora virus have a more than five-times increased risk of mortality the year after discharge. In many cases, these deaths were attributed to kidney failure. After a year of discharge, mortality did not differ from the general population.
