Currently only five (SEA-SEE) out of 27 known staphylococcal enterotoxins can be analyzed using commercially available kits.Six genes ( and ), encoding putative and undetectable enterotoxins, are located on the enterotoxin gene cluster () which is part of the genomic island Saβ.
