Test description

  • Description: Identification of Listeria monocytogenes and determination of serogroup based on classical in-house PCR. This test is performed on purified strains from which DNA is extracted, in case of difficulties in classical serotyping by agglutination.
  • Result: identification of Listeria monocytogenes and determination of serogroup.

Purpose

Confirmation of the identification and serogrouping of isolated Listeria monocytogenes strains.

Criteria for performing this test in the context of reference activities

Confirmation of Listeria identification and serogrouping of samples isolated from patients showing symptoms of listeriosis (analysis performed in the framework of NRC Listeria surveillance).

Instruction for samples
