The following compounds were tested: cefamandole, cefazolin, cefmenoxime, cefotaxime, cefotiam, ceftazidime, cefuroxime, mecillinam and piperacillin. The synergistic effect varied markedly. The combination cefotiam-mecillinam showed the highest rate of synergistic activity.
