Dr. ir. Karlien Cheyns MSc

Karlien Cheyns graduated in 2005 as Bioscience engineer in environmental scienses. Following her studies she performed a PhD studying the “Influence of Dissolved Organic Matter (DOM) on biodegradation of pesticides in soils” at the division of Soil and Water Management of the KULeuven. At the same division she continued with postdoctoral research in the field of heavy metal (eco)toxicity. She started in 2012 at CODA-CERVA, the predecessor of Sciensano, as scientist responsible for the tasks of the National Reference Laboratory for trace elements in food and feed.
