Dr. Katelijne Dierick DVM

Katelijne Dierick graduated in 1983 at Ghent University as Doctor in Veterinary Medicine. She started her career as lecturer in Veterinary Public Health, Faculty of veterinary medicine (University of Ghent, 1984-1988). Later she worked at the National Institute for Veterinary research as laboratory coordinator for the eradication of brucellosis (1989-1990). In 1990 she started as Scientific collaborator at Sciensano. From 2008 until 2015 she was head of the service Foodborne pathogens. Since 2016 she is Scientific Director of the Scientific direction Infectious diseases in Humans.
