Abstract:

In Belgium, the FASFC monitors the evolution of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in food and foodproducing animals (primary production). Resistance in the zoonotic bacteria Salmonella spp. and Campylobacter spp. and in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) as well as resistance in indicator bacteria Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium was monitored in 2023.
