Abstract:

The popularity of the electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) has increased significantly in the past decade. In Belgium, the implementation of the revised European Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) in 2014 marked a turning point for this phenomenon. Prior to this, the use of the e-cigarette was not yet mainstream, as only nicotine-free e-cigarettes were allowed on the market.
