Sciensano is recognised as the Belgian National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for dourine. We are active in 2 main areas:
Diagnosis | identifying dourine to limit its transmission
Our laboratory is responsible for the serological diagnosis in equines using the complement fixation test. The latter is the prescribed test for international trade.
Expertise | ensuring our role as a NRL in the diagnosis and control of this disease
We focus our expertise on performing the serological test according to the standards of the European reference laboratory.
