Dr. Marie Delnord PhD
Marie-Sklodowska Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Dr. Marie Delnord holds an MA in Child Development from Tufts University (USA), an MSc in Paediatrics and community health from University College London (UK), and a PhD in Epidemiology from Paris Descartes University (France). She is lead investigator for the BAHCI project which explores the determinants of knowledge translation, and evidence-based public health approaches in EU-Member States.
Marie Delnord started working for Sciensano in August 2018. Previously, she worked at Inserm, the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research as an epidemiologist and project manager for Euro-Peristat, an EU funded initiative on the surveillance of maternal and child health health in Europe. She conducted international comparisons of perinatal health indicators, and has acquired expertise on the characteristics of European health information systems, and methods that strengthen EU public health surveillance, and cross-border data exchange. Her PhD thesis is entitled: ” Understanding geographic and temporal variations in preterm birth rates and trends : an international study in 34 high-income countries”.
She is Steering Committee member for the European Public Health Association (EUPHA)- Public health reporting and monitoring section, Executive Board member for EuroPeristat, and International Scientific Committee member for EUPHA. She was recently a Jury member for the 2019 European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) Hackathon.
