Dr. Sidney Levi DVM
Scientist
Holder of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a Master Class in Marine Mammal Pathology and Biology (ULg, Belgium), Sidney began her career in veterinary practice. From 2016 to 2017, she worked in the Netherlands at the Seal Rehabilitation and Research Centre, where she performed necropsies and rehabilitated seals. She also contributed to various research projects for the seal rescue center at SeaLife Blankenberge.
In 2017–2018, Sidney shifted her focus to companion animal practice. Under the mentorship of Dr. Julie Zaccaï, she was introduced to cardiology and provided general veterinary care at the Mercure clinic (Belgium).
In 2018, she joined Sciensano’s Quality of Vaccines and Blood Products department, taking responsibility for the official control of veterinary vaccines prior to market release.
In 2021, Sidney was elected to the VBRN Advisory Group, a European working group that coordinates batch release activities within the EU Veterinary Batch Release Network (VBRN). Her responsibilities include enhancing and harmonizing the network’s operations, drafting specific guidelines, and chairing meetings within the network.
