Description of the test
Immunoassay for the qualitative detection and quantitative determination of specific IgG antibodies to H. pylori in human serum and plasma.
Purpose of the test
- Primary diagnosis of H. pylori infection.
- Criteria for performing this test in the context of reference activities
- Primary diagnosis of H. pylori infection or confirmation of positive/doubtful serology.
Instructions for samples
Collection: serum without anticoagulant with or without gel (min 500 µl).
Instructions for transport
Samples kept up to 3 days +2-8°C. Freeze at longer storage times.
Unacceptable requests
- Sample unidentified
- Mandatory fields on the request form incomplete,
- Obvious storage or transport conditions not applied.
Turn around time (and frequency of analysis)
- Analyses are performed once a week.
- The result is sent the week following receipt.
Reporting of test results
A protocol is sent to the requesting laboratory by post.
