Detection of H. pylori specific antigens in feces

Description of the test

Immunoassay for the qualitative detection and quantitative determination of specific IgG antibodies to H. pylori in human serum and plasma.

Purpose of the test

• Primary diagnosis of H. pylori infection.
• Criteria for performing this test in the context of reference activities
• Primary diagnosis of H. pylori infection or confirmation of positive/doubtful serology.

Instructions for samples

Collection: serum without anticoagulant with or without gel (min 500 µl).

Instructions for transport

Samples kept up to 3 days +2-8°C. Freeze at longer storage times.

Unacceptable requests

• Sample unidentified
• Mandatory fields on the request form incomplete,
• Obvious storage or transport conditions not applied.

Turn around time (and frequency of analysis)

• Analyses are performed once a week.
• The result is sent the week following receipt.

Reporting of test results

A protocol is sent to the requesting laboratory by post.
