E-test for eravacycline
Purpose of the test
Detection of antibiotic resistance to eravacyclin
Criteria for performing this test in the context of reference activities
Clinically relevant enterococci strains resistant to vancomycin and linezolid
Instructions for samples
Reink culture on blood agar with individual colonies
Instructions for transport
- Sample shipment: Pure culture of strain on blood agar with individual colonies
- Shipping conditions: at room temperature
- Shipping or delivery of strains: Strains can be sent by post to the above address or deposited at the reception of the Clinical Biology Department of the University Hospital Antwerp (UZA), route 169, 3rd floor
- When sending strains, the following items must be respected:
- Completed request form
- Nutrient media should be unambiguously identified with the reference number of the request
Unacceptable requests
- No pure culture
- Missing or incomplete application form
Turn around time (and frequency of analysis)
E-tests are deployed on all weekdays. A TAT of 7 days is respected.
