Description of the test

Immunofluorescence test for the detection of IgG and IgM antibodies

Purpose of the test

Diagnosis

Criteria for performing this test

Clinical suspicion (billing according to NIHDI nomenclature).
In the phase of the disease before antibodies appear (first week), diagnosis can be done by PCR. Therefore, always indicate the interval between the onset of symptoms and sample collection on the request form.

Instructions for the sample

  • Serum
  • Minimum volume: 1 ml
  • Store at 4°C

Instructions for transport

  • Samples can be shipped at room temperature.
  • Transit time should be kept as short as possible (Avoid transport during weekends or holidays)

Unacceptable request

Analyses cannot be performed in case of insufficient sample

Average: 5 days.
