Sciensano investigates the health impacts of green environments, as the biodiversity of these green environments (not only the number of species but also the diversity in habitats and structures) may influence the health effects of green environments, for instance:
- how tree biodiversity has effects on stress and severity of allergic symptoms in tree pollen allergy patients in the RespirIT project.
- the associations between green space and specific morbidities in Belgium in the GRESP-HEALTH project.
- the associations between green space and mental health in the Brussels Capital Region in the NAMED project.
