Ms Melissa Van Bossuyt PhD

Melissa Van Bossuyt graduated as a Pharmacist and Master in Drug Development from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 2014. Subsequently, she completed a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the In Vitro Toxicology and Dermato-cosmetology unit of the VUB, in collaboration with the former WIV-ISP (Sciensano’s predecessor). Her research activities mainly focus on in silico and in vitro (geno)toxicity testing of substances that can be present in food contact materials. Melissa has been working as a toxicologist within Sciensano’s Risk and health impact assessment unit since 2018.
