Dr. Olivier Denis PhD
Chef de travaux SW
O. Denis graduated from the “Université Catholique de Louvain” (Belgium) with a MSc in Biology in 1989 and a PhD in immunology in 1994. His PhD research focused on B-cell activation and antigenic presentations. During his post-doctorate at the Pasteur Institute of Brussels he studied CD8 cytotoxic responses induced by new anti-tuberculosis vaccines. He described several new CD8 epitopes on Antigen 85, a protective mycobacterial antigen. In 2002 he created the Allergology unit of the Scientific Institute of Public Health (WIV-ISP). His research activities include the study of immune responses in mould-induced asthma models, the relationships between indoor allergens, in particular mould allergens and patient sensitizations and the development of mould-specific monoclonal antibodies for the quantification of their allergens and toxins.
