Dr. Shona Cosgrove MD

Shona Cosgrove holds an MSc in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), as well as a degree in Medicine from Trinity College Dublin.
Shona joined Sciensano in 2021 and works as a project researcher in the EU Health Information Systems Unit and the Illicit Drugs Unit. She works on several projects, namely: DRUG-PREP (in which she is applying foresight methodologies to the drugs field), BE-PIN (leading the work package to define the governance of a Belgian Pandemic Intelligence Network), and EU-HIP (EU interoperability with the HERA IT Platform). Previous projects include TEHDAS, HealthyCloud, and BY-COVID.
Before joining Sciensano, she worked at the health policy and communications consultancy, Incisive Health, and was a Blue Book Trainee at the Cabinet of Commissioner for Health and Food Safety in the European Commission. Prior to that, she worked as a junior doctor in Ireland.
