Dr. Shona Cosgrove MD

Shona Cosgrove holds an MSc in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), as well as a degree in Medicine from Trinity College Dublin.
Shona joined Sciensano in 2021 and works as a project researcher in the EU Health Information Systems Unit. She works on several EU projects related to health data, namely the Joint Action Towards a European Health Data Space (TEHDAS), HealthyCloud (which aims to provide a strategic agenda for a health research and innovation cloud in Europe), BY COVID and EU-HIP (EU interoperability with the HERA IT Platform).
Before joining Sciensano, she worked at the health policy and communications consultancy, Incisive Health, and was a Blue Book Trainee at the Cabinet of Commissioner for Health and Food Safety in the European Commission. Prior to that, she worked as a junior doctor in Ireland.
