Valeska is a medical doctor, with additional training in general practice, tropical medicine and infectious diseases (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine). She has particular experience as a physician in infectious disease control (surveillance of notifiable infectious diseases, case and outbreak management). Since September 2020, she works for Sciensano in the Department of Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases, where she also started training as an EPIET fellow (ECDC) in September 2021.
