Ensuring compliance with quality standards
We are responsible for managing Sciensano's quality management system.
In fact, we ensure that all the divisions comply with the quality standards to be in a position to guarantee our customers the accuracy of the analysis results that we issue and the reliability of the opinions or conclusions we formulate.
Our experts are responsible for supporting all the divisions and employees in the various aspects related to the implementation, maintenance, monitoring and development of the quality management system, established in collaboration with management.

The following quality standards are in force within Sciensano: ISO 9001, 15189, 17025 and 17043.
In this context, we:
- manage and check all documentation related to quality, safety and the environment
- provide expert advice on the standards in force
- support management, scientific and administrative divisions with the implementation of standards and the continuous improvement of the efficiency of their quality management system
- coordinate and/or carry out the interviews, checks and, in some cases, the calibration of devices used for laboratory work (e.g. scales, fluxes, pipettes, etc.).
