Veterinary with a Master’s degree in Public Health — Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). After doing a traineeship at the European Commission she worked two years as an epidemiologist in the Environment and Health department of the Belgian Institute of Public Health (WIV-ISP). Then in, joined the European Program of Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET) which she carried out in Dublin at the Health Protection and Surveillance Center (HPSC). After graduating from EPIET she went back to the Belgian Institute of Public Health currently called Sciensano and joined the Epidemiology of infectious diseases service, and more specifically the Zoonoses and vector borne diseases team, where she currently works. Her main tasks are: the surveillance of zoonosis and vector borne diseases, provide epidemiological support in case of any public health event/crisis and develop risk assessment when a signal of a health threat is triggered. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, she has been fully involved in COVID-19, mostly involved in reporting and the epidemiological description of the epidemic.
