OMCL Network Quality Management System | Medicines Control
Two of Sciensano’s services are assigned as Official Medicines Control Laboratory (OMCL) by the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & Healthcare (EDQM):
- Quality of vaccines and blood products for the assessment and checking of the quality of biological medicines for human use (vaccines and blood products) before they are placed on the market
- Medicines and health products for assessment of the quality of new, common medicines and their ingredients.
Within that framework, the OMCLs are audited on a regular base by EDQM.
