Sciensano & Fungi

Last updated on 4-2-2019 by Aurélie Felice

Sciensano hosts a rich fungal collection of more than 15,000 different strains of molds and yeasts that have an effect on human or animal health. Sciensano develops identification methods and studies infectious fungi and their resistance to antifungals.

The Mycology and Aerobiology division hosts a collection focused on species of medical and veterinary interest, allergenic species and species producing mycotoxins. These strains are available for research and industry.
In the context of human or animal health, any identification study or mycological analysis request may be sent to the Mycology and Aerobiology division.
