An investigation of the mobility, viability, and activity of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) degrading bacteria in an electric field is presented. Bench-scale model aquifers were used to test electrophoresis and electroosmosis as potential mechanisms for bacterial dispersion in contaminated sites.
