Antifungal resistance is a growing concern in clinical settings with an increase in the incidence of multidrug resistant strains. The constant search for new antifungal compounds is therefore necessary. Cyanobacteria are known to produce a variety of secondary metabolites, out of which some appear to have antibiotic, anticancer or antifungal effects. In this work, a screening of cyanobacteria from the Antarctica was performed in order to discover potential new antifungal drugs.
