Sciensano is ISO 17025 accredited for a large number of analyses performed within different areas of expertise:

• analytical chemical analysis in the area of food and consumer safety;
• checking of the quality of biological medicines for human use (vaccines and blood products) before they are placed on the market;
• the detection, identification and quantification of GMOs, in particular in food and feed
• molecular biology analysis
• laboratory detection and monitoring of food-borne pathogens and their resistance to antimicrobial agents
• the diagnosis and surveillance of bacterial diseases, rabies antibody blood tests in the frame of pet travel.
