Dr. Els Van Hoeck started her PhD under the guidance of Professor P. Sandra in the Department Analytical Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences after her studies in Chemistry at the University of Ghent. In 2009, she started to work as a senior scientist at the Scientific Institute of Public Health (WIV-ISP), the predecessor of Sciensano. Here, she worked as a senior scientist in many research projects related to food contact materials, both as co-promoter and as coordinator. Most of these projects focus on the migration issues regarding non-plastic food contact materials like printed paper and board, coatings,.. . In 2018, she became head of service a.i. of the service ‹Organic contaminants and Additives›.
