In short

The Oral health data registration and evaluation system (OHDRES) examines the oral health status of the population in Belgium. The results of this study are of great importance

  • to identify the healthcare needs of the Belgian population;
  • to improve health policies regarding dental and oral health

Project description

The overall aim of the oral health data registration and evaluation survey is to collect relevant and valid information on the oral health of the population in Belgium. OHDRES consists of an oral health module integrated in the Health Interview Survey (HIS) and an oral health examination carried out by a dentist. The main outcome is an overall picture of current oral health behaviour, oral health status and oral health related quality of life, representative for the Belgian population. To this end, the outcome will be assessed taking into account sociodemographic indicators such as gender, age group, education and region of residence.

Data collection starts in October 2023 and continues until June 2024. The reports can be expected in 2024 and will be available on this project page.
