Two experiments were performed to compare the severity of encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) infection in pigs. The pigs were challenged with the Greek myocardial strain, at different ages and with different doses. In the first experiment, nineteen susceptible pigs, 40 days old, were divided into three groups and were experimentally infected with 10(6) TCID(50), 10(4) TCID(50) or 10(2) TCID(50) of the Greek EMCV strain.
