Epidemiologist
Dieter Van Cauteren joined the direction Epidemiology and public health of Scienano in 2017. He first joined the ‘Health Services Research’ unit as coordinator of a national sentinel GP network (https://www.sciensano.be/en/network-general-practitioners) and since september 2019 he works as a researcher/epidemiologist at the ‘Epidemiology of infectious disease’ unit. His research mainly focuses on surveillance and the burden of bacterial foodborne infections. Before 2017 he worked for several years as epidemiologist on vectorborne, foodborne and zoonotic infections at the department of infectious diseases of Santé publique France, the French Public Health Agency. He obtained a PhD in Public health-epidemiology at the university of Paris-Saclay in 2016.
